When asked how to prepare for a career in business, Warren Buffett, widely considered as the best investor of the 20th century, pulled out a handful of papers and exclaimed:
“Read 500 pages like this every day.
That’s how knowledge works.
It builds up, like compound interest.
All of you can do it, but I guarantee not many of you will do it.”
Warren is a student of his craft and estimates that 80% of his working hours are spent reading and thinking.
The Asymmetrical Benefit of Reading
Reading books is an investment that provides almost infinite upside.
I’m a firm believer in a polymathic approach and exposing yourself to categories outside your circle of competence.
On my book list you’ll see books on a broad range of topics from Business to Psychology, Technology to Art.
I’m going to keep adding to it as the year progresses.
If you have any recommendations send them my way by replying to this e-mail.
Have a great start to the week and speak soon.
