Hello my friends,

How’s it going?

A few updates this week —

CMMN WLTH has acquired some internet real estate.

I picked up a dedicated domain: www.cmmnwlth.io

.io domain names are popular in the tech world and I went with it as loosely it means input/output which is the essence of this project.

Please bookmark it, link to it and share it with your most curious friends and colleagues.

*No change to e-mail subscription which will continue to be delivered to your inbox every Sunday.

I’ve also sharpened the format slightly.

Continuing to “build in public”, I dropped the analytics into the footer and added back Classifieds — If you’re hiring, looking to mentor, or looking for a mentor I welcome you to post it here. Simply reply to this e-mail with the details.

As always, I appreciate your time and attention. I hope you continue to find these notes useful.

Let's get into it ↓

— Andy

Product

  • Breathe some life back your idea generation. Deck of Brilliance is a catalyst for creative thinking.

  • Focusing on competitors can narrow your view. By identifying your consumer’s alternatives you solve their real problems.

  • With so many different formats curating media from the internet isn’t intuitive. Pocket App is a tool that enables you to save inspirations, highlight key passages and build lists of interesting content.

People

  • “Much of society has become like an airplane boarding line, with different rights and privileges […]”. A reflection on trust, curiosity and equality.

  • Learn how to map influence independently of the org chart. Navigate power and status.

  • If you’re a long time subscriber you’ll know that I’m fascinated by game theory. This is the simplest and most fun description of zero-sum games destroy collaboration.

Methods

  • Long term games deliver the highest returns. The Power of Tiny Gains.

  • Solitude and leadership may, at first, appear to be opposing ideas. How being alone with your thoughts forms the basis of leading.

  • “Ugh Fields” are areas of your life you avoid but require your attention. Analysis and some antidotes.

Out of Office

In 1997 a rogue wave caused a container of approx. 5 million Lego to spill into the sea. An analogy of the plastic crisis, @legolostatsea, tracks pieces that are still being washed up on the beaches of England 24 years later.
