Hello my friends,
Most creators talk exclusively about their successes.
James Dyson, the inventor of the Dyson vac and that fancy hand dryer, is different.
He encourages his employees to celebrate failure.
Dyson and his approx. 4000 engineers focus on analyzing problems, making prototypes, testing and iterating until they find what works, or more importantly — what doesn’t.
One of the most interesting things about their creation approach is that they don’t employ technicians; their engineers and scientists make their own prototypes and test rigs. By doing so they are intimately experiencing the product, enabling them to understand the weaknesses and intuitively identify improvements.
It is an excellent reminder that success is manufactured in the process.
As offices start to open their doors again, the last place you should go is your cubicle and write e-mails. Write them at home.
Go to the office to make, test, iterate and fail.
Let's get into it.
