Hello my friends,
Last weekend, Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in history, executed a move so difficult no other woman has even attempted it.
It is considered so dangerous that the International Gymnastics Federation capped her score, seemingly to discourage other athletes from trying it themselves.
However, it’s not the first time this has happened to her and it would appear that the governing body doesn’t want too big a gap in ability between the field.
Despite the criticism, Simone said she will continue to push the boundaries and when pressed on why, she said:
“Because I can”
Ironically, too often, it’s when you push the apex of what is possible in sport, design and craft that the establishments — who proclaim that they exist to progress their disciplines — get uncomfortable.
The message here:
Keep pushing the boundaries and when questioned why — the answer is simple.
